Mahendra Singh Dhoni has won the toss and chosen to field because of the dew factor.
Two changes to the side: Irfan Pathan in for Munaf Patel, and Rohit Sharma takes Gautam Gambhir’s place.Kevin Pietersen says he’s surprised India chose to field, and says he would have definitely batted first. Two changes to the England side as well: Alistair Cook replaces Ian Bell, and Steve Harmison comes in for James Anderson

5th ODI - India v England
Date: Wednesday 26 th November, 2008
Time : 14:00 local, 08:30 GMT
Venue: Barabati Stadium, Cuttack

Pitch and conditions

The Barabati Stadium hosted day-night games during last month's Challenger Trophy. With the pitches on the slower side there were not many big scores, and teams were dismissed four times in eight innings. No rain is expected on Wednesday, but dew could play a factor during the chase. The curator, Pankaj Patnaik, felt the team winning the toss would bat. "The pitch is looking good, it's compact," he told the Indian Express. "It's a sporting wicket, and the bowlers will get good bounce here. But at the end of the day, it's a one-day match and the pitch will be batsman-friendly."

England (probable) 1 Ravi Bopara, 2 Ian Bell, 3 Kevin Pietersen (capt), 4 Paul Collingwood, 5 Andrew Flintoff, 6 Owais Shah, 7 Samit Patel, 8 Matt Prior (wk), 9 Stuart Broad, 10 Graeme Swann, 11 Steve Harmison.

India (probable) 1 Virender Sehwag, 2 Sachin Tendulkar, 3 Gautam Gambhir, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Suresh Raina, 6 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt & wk), 7 Yusuf Pathan, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 Zaheer Khan/Irfan Pathan, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Munaf Patel

5th ODI - India v England

Wednesday 26 November, 2008

Time: 14:30 local, 09:00 GMT

Venue: Barabati Stadium, Cuttack

Ground Profile:

The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack hosted only the third one-day international in this country, in January 1982, when India put it across England by five wickets to lift the series 2-1. In the first Test match here five seasons later, the Sri Lankans were greeted with an underprepared wicket affording vastly unpredictable bounce. Dilip Vengsarkar, then at the most dizzying heights of his career, made his highest Test score of 166, his fourth century in eight Tests, when no other batsman on either side crossed 60. The Lankans were rolled over twice as India seized an innings and 67-run victory. Kapil Dev bagged his 300th Test victim, bowling Rumesh Ratnayake with a ball that failed to sit up.

The only other Test match here, against New Zealand in 1995-96, was badly affected by rain, affording less than 180 overs of playing time. Narendra Hirwani, on a comeback trail, took 6 for 59 in New Zealand's only innings, the best bowling figures here. India have won five out of seven ODI's at this venue which has also witnessed two games not involving them. Visiting sides have in the past sometimes expressed their qualms about having to travel from Bhubaneshwar, an hour's drive away, because of the lack of an airport and of quality accomodation in Cuttack.

4th ODI - India v England

Sunday 23rd November, 2008

Time: 14:00 local, 08:30 GMT

Venue: M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore

England were thrashed in Rajkot and comprehensively beaten in Indore but improved their performance in Kanpur. The gap between the teams has narrowed with every game but, at 3-0 to India, the series has reached a stage where England have to win in Bangalore to keep it alive.

Team news

Tendulkar's return is a certainty but what is less clear is whom he is going to replace. Rohit Sharma's scores in this series are 11 not out, 3 and 28 and it's likely that he will make way for Tendulkar. Gambhir will drop down to No. 3, giving India's top order the look it had when winning the tri-series in Australia earlier this year. Ishant had a poor game in Kanpur, conceding 12 of India's 17 extras, but India are unlikely to change their bowling attack.

India (probable): 1 Virender Sehwag, 2 Sachin Tendulkar, 3 Gautam Gambhir, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Suresh Raina, 6 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt & wk), 7 Yusuf Pathan, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 Zaheer Khan, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Munaf Patel.

England made several changes to their batting order in the last game in Kanpur, promoting Ravi Bopara to open, Pietersen to No. 3, and dropping Owais Shah and Matt Prior to Nos 6 and 8. They are likely to persist with that plan after the Bopara-Ian Bell combination produced 79 runs in quick time. They could make a change to the bowling attack, however, replacing the out-of-form James Anderson with Steve Harmison.

England (probable): 1 Ravi Bopara, 2 Ian Bell, 3 Kevin Pietersen (capt), 4 Paul Collingwood, 5 Andrew Flintoff, 6 Owais Shah, 7 Samit Patel, 8 Matt Prior (wk), 9 Stuart Broad, 10 Graeme Swann, 11 Steve Harmison.

Pitch and conditions

Bangalore has had daily showers in the run-up to the match and the meteorological department has predicted moderate to heavy rain over the weekend. The pitch at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, however, is expected to be full of runs. "It's a sporting wicket, and should assist the batsmen more than the bowlers," the curator Narayan Raju said. "The ball will come on to the bat nicely." In the last ODI at this venue, in September 2007, Australia scored 307 for 7 before rain interrupted play shortly into the Indian innings and forced the match to be abandoned.

India vs England
3rd ODI
Kanpur - Nov 20, 2008
Match scheduled to begin at 09:00 local time (03:30 GMT)
Ishant Sharma, who missed the first two ODIs against England due to an ankle injury, has been declared match-fit but the team management is yet to take a call on whether he will play the third game on Thursday in Kanpur.
If Ishant returns, either Munaf Patel or RP Singh will have to sit out in Kanpur. RP looked scratchy in the two games played with just one wicket. The team is looking to rotate the fast bowlers during the seven-match ODI series as a precautionary measure keeping in mind the subsequent two-Test series. "We would like to play both of them [Zaheer and Ishant] till we are in complete control of the series," sources said.

India 613 for 7 dec and 43 for 2 (Gambhir 21*, Dravid 5*) lead Australia 577 (Clarke 112, Sehwag 5-104) by 79 runs

A fighting century from Michael Clarke gave Australia a strong chance of heading into the final Test with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy still theirs to defend as a draw appeared likely in Delhi. Clarke's 112, his eighth Test hundred, guided Australia to within 36 runs of India's enormous 613 and completed a valiant group response from a side that had been all but batted out of the game within two days.
